life at chez threadbear
Yup. Things are just as nuts as ever, but I have had a bit of amusement. The letter to the editor of the local newspaper here in Columbus, Indiana (that would be The Republic... or The Repugnant, The Repulsive, or any number of other choice colloquialisms I've heard around town for those of you who care) that appears to the right addresses some of the recent letters that have appeared in the paper in support of a ban on gay marriage that is currently brewing in ours and many other legislatures around the country. It pretty much summed up my views on the matter, so I thought I'd share it.
Beyond that, we've been busy-busy-busy. Have I gotten the rewrite done on Karen's Multi-Dimensional Scarf done? Lord, no. Besides, if you checked my comments, you'd see that Karen herself is rewriting it, so I'd much rather let her modify her own pattern. [ASIDE: Karen, if you'd like me to link to or post a PDF of your modified pattern, let me know via e-mail. I don't want to whomp your bandwidth, so if you'd prefer that I post it, I'm glad to do so.]
What I have been doing is a lot of Charlotte's Web Shawl colorways. Here are a few that folks decided against:
Whew!
For those of you who're on a dial-up connection, I'll go ahead and apologize for the download time now. My bad. Oh, and while I'm at it, there's someone else I owe an apology to. There was a wonderful person who came into the shop shortly after we opened that really brightened up our new home. She was a reader, and she was delighted to find that we were right here in her own town. When we started getting too busy for me to post every day, though, several folks on this end and online started picking on me about it, and one evening, when she, as several other folks had, started picking on me about posting more often, I said something rude that I believe must have deeply offended her. The fact that I really intended it to be jestful aside, it was not a nice thing to say, and I'm deeply sorry if I offended her in saying it. Well, we haven't seen her since, and I, for one feel the loss rather sharply. If you even bother still reading, I miss you, and if I hurt your feelings or offended you in any way, I am truly sorry for my stupidity, hurtfulness, and general lack of tact. I apologize. If I still don't see you, it's my loss, but what I needed to say on the matter is said. Be well, and God bless.
Much love, people.
-Matt.
