Ok, folks. The Charlotte's Web Shawl colorways recently posted are all pretty much out of stock. I might be able to come up with something similar, but we're been inundated with orders on those specific ones, and those dye codes are all but gone. I'll post more soon to satisfy those hungry for more.

In the meantime, I'm working away on color work for folk, so if you are already in the queue, I'll be with you shortly.

We met with our potential new landlords last night, and it looks very good for a May move-in. Will it mean delays on an already taxed shipping backlog? Well, yes, frankly, it probably will. Does it mean that we're not still taking orders? Heck, no. Send 'em in. We'll turn them around as quickly as we can.

But that's by no means the only choice we have to offer.

Personally, I'd be interested in trying Classic Elite Sand. It's a richly textured cotton that knits at 4spi on 8US, and at 77yds for $5.67US the largest size would cost just under $125, but if you could make gauge on it, the knit fabric is gorgeous in cables.

Now, I truly don't know how Sand would look at 4.5spi, but obviously, it will hold a cable. I've seldom seen a cotton look more like a rustic wool. I just think this yarn is beautiful. I'm really looking forward to expanding our offerings of the line.

Wow! You guys really liked the Charlotte's colorways. Thanks for all the compliments. How's this? When I have one handy that I know isn't spoken for, I'll just post it. If anyone wants it, be the first to write or call, and it's yours. I won't promise to recreate any of them (a: I don't like sending two Charlottes out into the world just alike, and b: if you go to the trouble of knitting one of these spectacular creations, it should be the only one of its kind), but I'm glad to pack up the ones I have to be adopted out to a happy home.

Here's today's beauty. I misread an e-mail for someone asking for a Carousel colorway for her daughter and put together a couple of Charlottes instead. The colorway is (from left to right): P608(234L), P624(81), P148(no dye lot listed), P621(98), and P622(19).

For those of you who're on a dial-up connection, I'll go ahead and apologize for the download time now. My bad. Oh, and while I'm at it, there's someone else I owe an apology to. There was a wonderful person who came into the shop shortly after we opened that really brightened up our new home. She was a reader, and she was delighted to find that we were right here in her own town. When we started getting too busy for me to post every day, though, several folks on this end and online started picking on me about it, and one evening, when she, as several other folks had, started picking on me about posting more often, I said something rude that I believe must have deeply offended her. The fact that I really intended it to be jestful aside, it was not a nice thing to say, and I'm deeply sorry if I offended her in saying it. Well, we haven't seen her since, and I, for one feel the loss rather sharply. If you even bother still reading, I miss you, and if I hurt your feelings or offended you in any way, I am truly sorry for my stupidity, hurtfulness, and general lack of tact. I apologize. If I still don't see you, it's my loss, but what I needed to say on the matter is said. Be well, and God bless.

Thanks to everyone who has expressed their support during our recent (and ongoing) zoning upheaval. The outpouring of sentiment has had me verklempt for days. (Kisses, Deb!) But believe it or nor, even with all the chaos and the ongoing business of business to keep up with, I really do occasionally get to knit a stitch or two.

Those of you who know me well know that I tend to be a bit on the picky side about some things. Dogeared pages and roughly stacked books make me itch. I may not be the neatest person in the world, but after years of computer programming, I like things to come together if they can. That's why the multi- directional scarf pattern by Karen Baumer bothered me.

With all due respect to Karen, AHH!!! That's not right! So I redesigned the last segment to suit my visually-OC nature.

I'll post the pattern when I have the time to write it up, but it's quite simple.
